Cell Phones Distribution Ceremony for Lady Health Workers from Nowshera

NOWSHERA NOVEMBER 7, 2015: Another milestone accomplished by Pakistan National PolioPlus Committee (PNPPC), Rotary International by providing 36 more cell phones to Lady Health Workers and Lady Health Supervisors while admiring their efforts and constant reporting of MNCH and EPI data right from the field under e-Monitoring through Cellphone project in district Nowshera. The event was attended by Zonal Coordinator PNPPC Rtn. Rauf Rohaila, P.P Tayyaba Gul and Project Manager PNPPC Asher Ali. More than 40 Lady Health Workers and YCP Team Members were also present on the occasion.

“I always appreciate the hard work, devotion and commitment of Lady Health Workers, who’ve been playing a vital role on the frontline to eradicate Polio from our country” said by Rtn. Rauf Rohaila. Quoting examples of other countries and recent global polio updates he also admired the dedication of Rtn. Tayyaba Gul and her team for successfully running both Pakistan Rotary Polio Resource Centre and e-Monitoring through Cellphone projects in district Nowshera. “Marvelous achievements in Nowshera are simply due to excellent leadership skills of Rtn. Tayyaba”, he further added.

The said event was organized in PRPRC Nowshera followed by a 1-day orientation session for the newly selected LHWs by Asher Ali, Project Manager PNPPC Nowshera. “Hopefully this new batch will also ensure constant and accurate reporting from the field using these cell phones”, Asher Ali shared with the participants on the occasion. YCP Team briefed the participants on latest updates regarding e-Monitoring from Nowshera.

“The success in e-Monitoring project depends upon LHWs and YCP Team and I am glad to see the real progress with key achievements so far” added by Rtn. Tayyaba Gul. She emphasized the need of proper utilization of all such available resources and integration of Information & Communication Technologies to better achieve the Primary Health Care outcomes in Pakistan particularly in the underprivileged communities.  

At the end, cell phones were distributed among the selected Lady Health Workers by Rtn. Rauf Rohaila, Rtn. Tayyaba Gul and Asher Ali.

The event ended up with a vote of thanks by Rtn. Tayyaba Gul to the guests and participants.
